5 Fundamental Elements

  5. Kihon Waza (basic technique)
Hidden movement is in the first series of low block, reverse punch. The 1st punch will be hidden behind the right side of the body in a Keiko-Ken (Phoenix Eye) and is executed at the completion of the definite forward hip movement.

Salute
Mudra;

  1. 1. a. Formal Stance. Hands in front of body, groin level left hand over right in a blade hand position palms facing in. b. Feet move into a Musubi Dachi (knotted stance) position. Simultaneously hands circle up (and inward) to a palm facing body chest level position, hands still connected. c. Right foot moves to the right into a Natural Stance position. Simultaneously hands move into an eye level palms away position. Thumb and index fingers make a triangle.
  2. 2. Bring the left foot to right foot into a formal stance position and execute a right Tettui Uchi (hammer fist) to the left palm at temple level.
  3. 3. Step back with your left foot into a right front stance and execute a hand inward, left palm on top of right fist, preparatory position.
  4. 4. Step back with your right foot into a formal stance and execute a left and right arm pull back to your sternum, arms parallel to the Earth, again right hand tight fist palm down and left hand open and palm down.
  5. 5. Step out 90 degrees to your left with left leg into an on line Horse Riding stance simultaneously executing a left low block. Execute a right Roundhouse punch.
  6. 6. Step into a left 45-degree Horse Riding stance and execute a left low block. (place the hidden movement in the form here, please see above). Otherwise, execute a right twisting punch to the Solar Plexus level with a definite forward hip movement ending in a left Front stance.
  7. 7. Step forward into a right 45-degree cat stance and execute a right double knifehand block.
  8. 8. Using a definite forward hip movement slide the right foot forward into a right front stance executing a right brush block and left twisting punch solar plexus level simultaneously.
  9. 9. Slide left foot into a 45-degree shadow stance and execute a right back fist to the groin level.
  10. 10. Head snap 90 degrees to the left.
  11. 11. Step into a left 45-degree Horse Riding stance and execute a left low block. With a definite forward hip movement ending in a left Front stance, execute a right twisting punch to the Solar Plexus level.
  12. 12. Step forward into a right 45-degree cat stance and execute a right double knifehand block.
  13. 13. Using a definite forward hip movement slide the right foot forward into a right front stance executing a right brush block and left twisting punch solar plexus level simultaneously.
  14. 14. Slide left foot into a 45-degree shadow stance and execute a right back fist to the groin level.
  15. 15. Head snap 180 degrees on your left side.
  16. 16. Step into a left 45-degree Horse Riding stance and execute a left low block. With a definite forward hip movement ending in a left Front stance, execute a right twisting punch to the Solar Plexus level.
  17. 17. Step forward into a right 45-degree cat stance and execute a right double knifehand block.
  18. 18. Using a definite forward hip movement slide the right foot forward into a right front stance executing a right brush block and left twisting punch solar plexus level simultaneously.
  19. 19. Slide left foot into a 45-degree shadow stance and execute a right back fist to the groin level.
  20. 20. Head snap 90 degrees to the left.
  21. 21. Step into a left 45-degree Horse Riding stance and execute a left low block. With a definite forward hip movement ending in a left Front stance, execute a right twisting punch to the Solar Plexus level.
  22. 22. Raise left hand palm away to forehead and execute a right back fist (thumb down) to open hand. In a circular manner (size of a beach ball), execute a right hammer strike to temple level in front of your body making contact with your left palm.
  23. 23. Pull hands into chest (sternum level) and execute a right front kick. Withdraw the hands to chamber position.  Set down into a right front stance simultaneously executing a right uppercut strike and left brush block. The timing should be so the hands and feet stop at the same time. (Timing).
  24. 24. Head snap 45-degree right.
  25. 25. Pivot into a right 45-degree Horse Riding stance and execute the first series of the Tiger Animal Form.
  26. 26. A. Simulating grabbing the opponent, right hand low and to the groin, left hand high and to the throat, lift opponent onto shoulders. B. At this point the hands change into a Dragon Fist. The upper arms are parallel to the Earth and forearms are vertical. C. Dump the opponent to your left opening the hands simulating releasing the opponent. The right arm will be high (like a high block), and the left hand will be open, palm away at the groin level.
  27. 27. Lift right leg and while keeping it tucked close to the body, rotate counterclockwise 180 degrees keeping the upper body perpendicular to the Earth. When you face front thrust the right leg back setting down into a left front stance simultaneously executing a right palm strike groin level. Keep chin up. Kiai Point!
  28. 28. Head snap right. Step back with left leg using an hourglass movement, into a right 45- degree cats paw stance simultaneously executing a right double knife hand block.
  29. 29. Head snap left. Step back with right leg using an hourglass movement, into a left 45- degree cats paw stance simultaneously executing a left double knife hand block.
  30. 30. Head snap center and to the front. Place left foot down and step forward into a online Horse Riding stance with the right leg. Bring left and right hand palms together in a pressing motion at Solar Plexus level and forearms parallel to the Earth. Hold for 5 seconds.
  31. 31. Without a preparatory position, execute a simultaneous left and right low block.

    Ending Mudra;

  32. 32. a. Draw right leg to left leg into a formal stance facing front. Bring right hand, tight fist to left palm Sternum high. The hands and forearms form an “A”. b. Extend the arms to form a triangle with the left and right index fingers and thumbs. c. Bring right and left hand palms together into a pressing motion Solar Plexus high and forearms parallel to the Earth.
  33. 33. Bring hands to the side palms in thumbs on the seams. Salute. End of form.
  34. 32. a. “Karate is my secret”. b. “I bear no weapons”. c. “I mean no harm”.
