5 Fundamental Elements

The foot pattern resembles a plus shape. +

All punches will be at your body level.

4 Winds Ichiban – Low block with low punch.

  1. Bow and announce your form.
  2. Cross the arms on the chest, step out into Horse Riding stance with your right leg and execute a double low block.
  3. Head snap left. Step forward with your right leg into a right front stance. Bring the left hand up in preparatory position for a left low block.
  4. Rotate on the heels of the feet counterclockwise into a left front stance and execute a left low block. The timing is so that the hand and body start and stop at the same time.
  5. Step forward with the right leg into a right front stance and execute a right twisting punch to the Pubic Bone and center of body mass.
  6. Head snap over the right shoulder and rotate clockwise with the right leg 180 degrees into a right front stance and simultaneously execute a right low block.
  7. Step forward with the left leg into a left front stance and execute a left low twisting punch to the Pubic Bone and center of body mass.
  8. Head snap left. Step back into a right front stance and preparatory position for a left low block.
  9. Rotate counterclockwise on the heels of the feet into a left front stance and simultaneously execute a left low block.
  10. Step forward with the right leg into a right front stance and execute a right low twisting punch to the Pubic Bone and center of body mass.
  11. Head snap over the right shoulder and rotate clockwise with the right leg 180 degrees into a right front stance and simultaneously execute a right low block.
  12. Step forward with the left leg into a left front stance and execute a left low twisting punch to the Pubic Bone and center of body mass. Kiai (yell) point!
  13. Leave the left hand out. Extend the right hand out in front of the body and cross over left arm. Simultaneously bring the left leg back to the right leg and pull double chamber hand.
  14. Step out with left foot into a natural stance and execute a double twisting punch low.
  15. Step across with the right foot into a hook stance (all online) and pull both hands back into chamber position. Head snap to the left.
  16. Rotate your body counterclockwise into a facing front natural stance and execute a double low twisting punch.
  17. Bring your right foot to your left.
  18. Bow. End of exercise.

4 Winds Niban – Middle block with middle punch.

  1. Bow and announce your form.
  2. Cross the arms on the chest, step out into Horse Riding stance with your right leg and execute a double low block.
  3. Head snap left. Step forward with your right leg into a right front stance. Bring the left hand to your hip in preparatory position for a left middle block.
  4. Rotate on the heels of the feet counterclockwise into a left front stance and execute a left middle block. The timing is so that the hand and body start and stop at the same time.
  5. Step forward with the right leg into a right front stance and execute a right twisting punch to the Solar Plexus and center of body mass.
  6. Head snap over the right shoulder and rotate clockwise with the right leg 180 degrees into a right front stance and simultaneously execute a right middle block.
  7. Step forward with the left leg into a left front stance and execute a left middle twisting punch to the Solar Plexus and center of body mass.
  8. Head snap left. Step back into a right front stance and preparatory position for a left middle block.
  9. Rotate counterclockwise on the heels of the feet into a left front stance and simultaneously execute a left middle block.
  10. Step forward with the right leg into a right front stance and execute a right middle twisting punch to the Solar Plexus and center of body mass.
  11. Head snap over the right shoulder and rotate clockwise with the right leg 180 degrees into a right front stance and simultaneously execute a right middle block.
  12. Step forward with the left leg into a left front stance and execute a left middle twisting punch to the Solar Plexus and center of body mass. Kiai (yell) point!
  13. Leave the left hand out. Extend the right hand out in front of the body and cross over left arm. Simultaneously bring the left leg back to the right leg and pull double chamber hand.
  14. Step out with left foot into a natural stance and execute a double twisting punch low.
  15. Step across with the right foot into a hook stance (all online) and pull both hands back into chamber position. Head snap to the left.
  16. Rotate your body counterclockwise into a facing front natural stance and execute a double low twisting punch.
  17. Bring your right foot to your left.
  18. Bow. End of exercise.

4 Winds Sanban – High block with high punch.

  1. Bow and announce your form.
  2. Cross the arms on the chest, step out into Horse Riding stance with your right leg and execute a double low block.
  3. Head snap left. Step forward with your right leg into a right front stance. Bring the left hand to chambered position for a left high block.
  4. Rotate on the heels of the feet counterclockwise into a left front stance and execute a left high block. The timing is so that the hand and body start and stop at the same time.
  5. Step forward with the right leg into a right front stance and execute a right twisting punch to the Mandible and center of body mass.
  6. Head snap over the right shoulder and rotate clockwise with the right leg 180 degrees into a right front stance and simultaneously execute a right high block.
  7. Step forward with the left leg into a left front stance and execute a left high twisting punch to the Mandible and center of body mass.
  8. Head snap left. Step back into a right front stance and preparatory position for a left high block.
  9. Rotate counterclockwise on the heels of the feet into a left front stance and simultaneously execute a left high block.
  10. Step forward with the right leg into a right front stance and execute a right high twisting punch to the Mandible and center of body mass.
  11. Head snap over the right shoulder and rotate clockwise with the right leg 180 degrees into a right front stance and simultaneously execute a right high block.
  12. Step forward with the left leg into a left front stance and execute a left high twisting punch to the Mandible and center of body mass. Kiai (yell) point!
  13. Leave the left hand out. Extend the right hand out in front of the body and cross over left arm. Simultaneously bring the left leg back to the right leg and pull double chamber hand.
  14. Step out with left foot into a natural stance and execute a double twisting punch low.
  15. Step across with the right foot into a hook stance (all online) and pull both hands back into chamber position. Head snap to the left.
  16. Rotate your body counterclockwise into a facing front natural stance and execute a double low twisting punch. Bring your right foot to your left. Bow. End of exercise.
